Anyone tried fusing bits of their Bullseye fusing sample set?
The disclaimer says the samples are not tested for fusing (the colours representing the post-fuse colour of the real stuff) - but I'm tempted to use the thin bits and keep the thick ones for colour reference.
Is it worth the risk?

Thanks for all the info on mould making - I've since found that the reverse of the gently sloping rim of of a large round platter (about 40cm wide x 3cm deep) gives a good enough curve to the glass.

Or maybe I've just got an odd shaped body...

Daj - I don't know what the right way is - but I treat, dry in the kiln, fire out the binder, use.
It can get a bit soggy and friable when wet, so maybe air-drying would be a good move.

Oh, and it stinks when prefiring out the binder.

Where are you in the UK?

When I use fibreboard I soak it in rigidiser to make a mould - the fiber is saturated with the liquid (and becomes soft and fragile till it's fired).
Maybe that's overkill, but it seems to work fine.

Bullseye's new thinfire is reputed not to tear during firing... important if you're firing on a fibre shelf and can't use kilnwash. Any results yet? I bought some of the powder from Creative a few weeks ago, and haven't tried it yet.

Fire hot enough and you'll get rounded corners if the item is thick enough. Small (15mm) square, 6mm thick will become a circle. (Hotish = 836 C).
This isn't infallible, but half the fun is not knowing what you'll find when you open the kiln door...

be warned that not all Effetre colours will be compatible with all your Millefiori colours.. I routinely use sterling silver for jewellery loops. I am now making a series using embedded gold leaf - and the silver loops look out of place.
