Re: what's the most popular tile size?

Yes, I'll make 4 x 4's that are actually a tad bit smaller. Thanks for the information!

Re: what's the most popular tile size?

Hmmmm.....I'm leaning towards 4 x 4 at the moment. If they don't sell as tile I'll slump them into dishes and have them another time as dishes. Ever the capitalist.

what's the most popular tile size?

I'm doing the Audubon Wild Arts Festival in Portland in November, which I've been part of for quite a few years. I like to do something new every year, and this year I'm considering using photo resist technique from my own photos of birds and wolves and putting them on tiles. I make a 3.5" dish...

Re: who pays de postage?

Actually, I began my glass sales in a small gallery, some years ago. I had under $100 worth of work in the place and all went well for 6 months or so. Then one day I went by and
poof, they were gone. So maybe that's part of my lack of excitement about being in galleries.

Re: who pays de postage?

I know the people who run the gallery and trust them, and it's not going to be a huge order, but there was an offer to pay the postage for a drop in my price to them. And yes, I realize that I couldn't make much money on my coasters at their current price; they're not what the gallery's interested i...

who pays de postage?

I've been selling at art/craft fairs for quite a few years but lately have been dropping some of them, for various reasons. I've always had a lot of galleries who want my work and it's beginning to look more attractive to me. I've always just had my work in local places, but now I'm considering gall...

There's a church in Dingle with Harry Clarke stained glass which is absolutely beautiful! I don't remember the name of the church, but Dingle's small enough to find it easily enough. Also, there's a very large fused/cast glass panel in a museum about the Blaskett Islands out on the tip of the Dingle...

I've had a 1414 Skutt kiln for over a year, one of the first ones that they made. It did have problems with the elements in the lid drooping so Skutt did replace the whole lid with a better pinning method. Their service has been excellent, I can't recommend them enough for how helpful they've been, ...

I use the paper that doctors use on their examination tables. I have a friend who's a doctor, and I buy it by the case from him. Works great!

help with skutt kiln

I think the kiln that you're looking at is the same as the first kiln I bought, probably seven years ago, for around $600. It doesn't have a hinged lid, you just lift it off. Although I have a newer, bigger Skutt kiln, I still use the old one at least 4 or 5 times a week. It's been quite the trooper...
