Melting stringers?
I can't for the life of me melt 1 and 2mm BE stringers. I've heard you can use a candle--didn't work. I have a Hothead torch, but I suspect that's overkill to say the least.

I work with several COEs plus dichro. You're right, it requires a great deal of diligence to keep them separated. One suggestion, keep multiple plastic shoe or sweater boxes labeled both top and sides for the smaller pieces. Anything too big to fit there should have the COE in black permanent marker...

I'm a little surprised at the comment that it is rather uninteresting. I frequently go to the wholesaler (I live in the Houston area), and there is a tremendous range of color, texture, mix, etc. I think Spectrum is rather tame in comparison! Having said that, I will admit that I usually fuse with B...

Metals on pendants?
I want to brighten up some fused pendants, and wondering what metals can be used. I envision using them something like frits, only with foil or leaf. I have silver, gold, and paladium--all from my lampworking. Is it possible to use this on top? Or would it just burn out unless covered by a cap of cl...

Moving kiln shelves?
I need suggestions on how to set a loaded shelf down into my kiln before firing. There is only about a 1/2" gap on each side--not enough to fit my fingers. I used to use strapping material to lower it, but I have a new kiln and it's harder to do it now.
