I have cleaned a Lot a of copper and I always use baking soda. I make a paste with vinegar and use this on a scrubby pad. I don't know if this will help but I wanted to try;)

If you're looking for stainless steel cookie cutters there's a lady on eBay who makes them. She also takes special orders if you want a certain shape. They stand up very well in the kiln, I've used the same ones for Christmas last year. She made ornimant shapes for me.

Holy buckets! Last week I got my order for every color in 90 Coe. Great post, I am doing the exact thing you are. Besides all your questions , what's the best way to make samples? On cut glass? In a tile mold? Do you make the mold yourself?

Why not just do a circle and cut in in half? If you want it thicker you could use those SS Rings to dam and then cut?
