You are probably overkill, I am underkill. I knock the powder off the spoon and move on to the new color. Single colors that have no way of being contaminated go back into the original container. Overspill from multiple colors goes in the trash.

Re: Do touching pieces fuse together or might there be a gap
It's similar to what Dana's talking about. As long as you're using the same colors any pullback will blend into the layer below. I've had it show a bit in pale, transparent colors (I think because of tiny bubbles veiling at the edge), but otherwise it's pretty seamless. It is what I'm talking about...

Re: Donut Bails
Barry has nice bails: http://kaiserglass.com/Store.html I guess the real question is, how can you sell pendants at $10 and make any money? IME, the molded pendants have to be fired at least twice - once for the casting and once to even out the edges/fire polish, and you're lucky if you don't have to...

Re: Do touching pieces fuse together or might there be a gap
Would it work to make the outer "U" shape in 3 straight sections, and then placing them next to each other for the actual fuse? I was told that the piece might pull apart a bit as it fuses together and there could be a gap so the red line wouldn't look like it was all one piece. You will ...

Re: Questions about rock inclusions
At a class I took this year at the expo, one of the instructors had a piece where the bottom of a bowl was slumped over rocks. It was very interesting.Reba wrote:

Re: HELP - Picking the right kiln
All are good kilns. Pick the one that is the size/has the features you want, fits within your budget, and go from there. I agree with Brock's comment about the 120 V. With a kiln that size it will heat slowly and it will be difficult to bring it up to pot melt temps if that is something you plan to ...
