If you have access to a sandblaster with pressure pot, it will work fine. Mask off with regular electrical tape and blast at a rather low pressure. 10-15 pounds. You'll be through it in no time, and have a clean edge.

What ever size you go with just don't buy a oilless compressor. They are not worth the money for sandblasting. They have graphite rings in them that need to cool off regularily. Spend the extra money and get and oil compressor. I know when you look at the spec's they have equal or even higher cfm's ...

Yes, the propane torch is a better way to eliminate flaring. Flaring and or chipping is not a concern most of the time for us, as we usually are using scalloping the edges. It seems to me I learned most of my glass cutting techniques from you many years ago on the rec.crafts.glass bulletin board. Th...

After scoring it with your glass cutter flip it over and strike the score with a regular cold chisel. This will run the score around the circle. Then score the excess glass and again run the score through to the edge of the circle. Make sure that the circle score has been ran through all the way or ...

I had one of those plasplug saws a few years ago, it was not very powerful. We were trying to cut granite and it wouldn't touch it. That tool is not really a 1 hp motor. It seems to me that comparing hp is rather complicated. The motor on that thing was tiny. I have a true one hp motor on my "R...

try running four shop vacs in series, with only the last one running, in the first one but a piece of cloth, the second just leave the cartridge filter, the third either a dry wall dust type filter and the last a hepa type cartridge filter. Nothing will get through to the hepa filter. You need shop ...

I'm may be misreading your post but it sounds like the blade dropped onto the cutting table. If so then your blade may have a chip in the diamond rim. If so everytime that section of blade passes by the glass it will chip. It should be a rather smooth cut through your glass, if the water is vibratin...

My way works better for me less messing around with the motor. They always in need of cleaning, we cut alot of stone and glass with it. If you want to argue with me about that one good luck. If I said something that upset you, sorry that was not my intention.

I'd be concerned, what are we cutting? Glass and it is sharp and abrasive. I'd be concerned that it would cut or abrade through the insulation of the wires and really light you up because you've got alot more water than a light spray onto a belt and it may or may not be protected by a gfi. Your putt...

The motors are enclosed in the housing an never see a single drop of water. I have a tile saw that is almost constantly being sprayed with water and thats okay. It is protected the same way, by the manufacturer. The amount of water on the belts is rather small and most is throwin' off the belt as it...

why would you say it is unsafe? I've run these this way (as have many others I know) for many years and the GFI plug has never tripped once. I've had electricians look it over and they say it's fine. (You can almost literally jump into a bath tub with the toaster and you'll be fine as long as the GF...
