My husband Jeff wired my kiln into a disconnect box with a 30amp breaker.
I turn my kiln on & off with the big switch on the box, along with dialogue
from "Young Frankenstein" It never has power unless it is firing a project.

What is the best way to fuse a square with sides

I would like to fuse a square or rectangle plate with 1/2" (?) sides for a mini zen garden. I thought that if I cut and kiln washed a fiberboard square, built my sides around it like you would for a picture frame, then put on the Bottom layer ....temporarily being the top, then ramped up 200dph...

Why wouldn't this %$#@! bowl slump

This is a cast bowl I made and I tried to slump it over a stainless steel mixing bowl, properly prepped. This is a very heavy piece over #4 I had the Satin Finish tm on the side facing the slumping mold and so wanted to keep the temps down to get the same effect on the backside during the slump. I h...

Thanks everyone for their input. I knew I had to go slow from my previous attempt. I just thought holding longer at a lower temp would take the stress off the mold. I will put an extra layer of wash on before attempting this.
