Shereen, San Diego has a very active glass community. are you in touch with the Art Glass Guild in the Spanish Village Art Center? www.artglassguild.com.

Re: Repairing seam lines? Advice?

I have not done this yet but I think it's fine to incorporate it into a new piece and full fuse again.

charging for your work

So I've been selling jewelry for about 8 years and am profitable every year, at least enough to keep funding my art habit! so now I am really into fusing glass and would like to add some small plates and such to my inventory. the question is how do you price this stuff? the raw materials are so expe...

I'm a newbie too but my answer is "it depends". I've done this and had instances where there is no noticeable line and also where there is a noticeable line.

Re: Oval dish suggestions

you cut the glass pre-fuse to fit the top of the mold. so you would cut out an oval to begin with.

Re: Fusing schedule question

I would say you should also ramp up slower than normal because all those layers will heat up at different rates. I am a newbie but I had a piece which was all 2 layers but I had 3 circles stacked on top. I got a crack right by the circles and my teacher told me it's because the circles were so thick...

Re: How to make sharp lines

what if you put a clear layer on the bottom (in order to get the two required layers) and then use thinner glass for the black? then it would not spread out as much.

Haley, I didn't test any TKB whites, only Pearlex. see my photo, 2nd row, last 3. Macro Pearl came out a medium sparkly silver, Micro Pearl came out white, and Pearl White came out a light silver.

Re: earring hooks

cheapest is not best for earring hooks. unless the design is very small or light I always use 20 gauge sterling. I like the ones from FMG but you have to buy a lot to get the best pricing.
