Charlie...It'll be great to see you at Pilchuck, as it has all the makings of becoming an amazing class. I hear you about pinching the pennies, especially after spending over 3k for the class and close to double that for taxs all in the same month. :x The cash drawer is getting pretty skimpy. See yo...

Dorothy, I' ve heard that Ms. Van Cline has a propriatary technique involving the photo-sensitive glass and doesn't teach her process, but thats just hearsay from my circle. It is a wonderful process and there are many people in the field that would love to learn it, including myself. Maybe someday ...

Same here...$10/hr (no taxs or beni's) till they've proven themselves with quality work. Along with that I offer piece work for production in which if they are proficient, they can make up to $30/hr. The problem I have with the younger ones is to get them to show up and/or stay interested. ](*,)

OK....Here's my evaluation on the new and improved thinfire. Ive been using this new product for almost 2 weeks now and have run it through all my different modes of fireing, full fuse, high fire, tack and firepolish. This stuff really passes the test. I got about 1/2 in shrinkage with the worst cas...

Beth....you beat me to the punch. Just home from the shop with the pad information. I bought them from Granite city tool of Vt. and they are called: 4" diamond resin disks made by Pearl abrasive co. It is a set consisting of 50-100-200-500-1000-2000-buff. Not the very best pads Ive ever used, b...

Point taken Tony. When a person is new to using a water feed angle grinder it will tend to throw water everywhere until the user becomes proficient enough to control both the water flow and the usage of the machine. But, by all means, it is a wet grinder and should be used in a contained area or out...

It has a water hose type hook up and I use it in a contained enviorment such as one of those large shallow plastic tubs. It really doesn't "Throw" water all over as suggested previously but it does eminate water through the center feed of the pad which can be controlled by a valve at the g...

Well, without rambling on endlessly on this subject I have only one opinion. Tried it...and it didn't work out as this person was only interested in one thing.... her bottom line....And a major portion of the profit.

When I first bought it less than 2 years ago it was $284- and I've seen it as recently as a few months ago at the same price. With the pad sets and backer pad plus shipping you could have a nice grinding and polishing setup for about $450-500.

We just used a small fused blank about 8" square and because of the time constraints of the class (1/2 day) everyone only had a few minutes to practice with it. It can do edges as well as surface with a little practice and could take a 20" surface to a sheen in an hour or three.

Angle grinder pads

I purchased the complete set of diamond pads, I think 40 grit up to 3500 though I could be wrong about the grit sizes. I'll be at the shop tomorrow am and get the brand and grit sizes. I was amazed that by buying the complete set of 8 it was really inexpensive, like about 180- along with the backer ...

8) Yea, I'm back for a while. The grinder is a Felisetti, made in Italy for the marble industry and sold by Granite city tool. I think that Amy has posted the URL. It has proved to be a very good machine, much cheaper then the rest of the wet grinders on the N american market and with a variable sp...
