Re: Screen printing TPI Question
I do a ton of screen printing. CMC based mediums for screen printing, while they work, are not optimum for screening. These mediums do not hold nearly as much enamel in suspension as pine oil or A-14. Pine oil is a mess to deal with so I only use A-14 (a Thompson product). The results are far superi...

Have tried similar things. The problem is the liquid squeezes out in the first one or two and then you are left with what approaches cement in the gun.

Adding photo to private message
Brad,
Tried to add a photo attachment to a personal message and got the error massage that the extension jpg was not acceptable.
Any way to add a photo to a personal?

Hope the small cracks don't cause a problem. Could be that they actually enhance the texture of the artwork. The piece is too beautiful to lose.

Re: Vitrification on Opal?
I thought I would put this in this thread. In your case, it sounds like you are just cutting and it really doesn't apply in that case, but here it is anyway. There is a huge difference between "devit" on the top (flat) surface, and the "devit" on the sides of the piece occurring ...

Re: lettering fused into or onto glass
We do lots of screen printing, which would work for this project. But, it is time consuming to make a screen for each name. A far simpler and effective method of doing this is to go to Office Depot or similar store and buy the sets of vinyl letters. Lots of sizes and fonts. If your budget allows, yo...

Re: Expandable drums
HI Bob,
Just got back into town, so late to this party
I made mine with an arbor from Lortone (about $400) and a local motor from a motor shop($85).
very easy to do.
Drums and wheels added about 250.

Jerry,
As a sub for the Flexiglass, try any polyvinyl acetate or Poly-ox based glue such as Elmers, Alenes or Bordens. Mix with a little water to thin some. Use good quality wax paper or treated (for release) aluminum foil. Works quite well.

yes Risa,
Relax and enjoy it.
Also go to bbakerinc.com and buy his booth design and Sales CDs. You don't need the jury CD for your situation.

Vicki,
You may need to hold some at 1450.
Check to see if they are done, then turn off the kiln.

Try the pilot silver markers...available at Staples (for some reason not available at Office Depot).
Inexpensive and they do withstand firing.

Another method is to fuse to approximate size and then grind to size and shape. We have a 6 wheel rotary grinder which makes short work of this process.

I have watched your are evolve ever since I found your web site(long ago).
It continues to change with the times. I can't say that it has gotten better, because it has been perfect ever since the beginning. In my opinion, no one can match your personal adornment pieces.
