What Marty said. You do not want to monkey around with electricity unless you are really qualified.
It is REALLY dangerous stuff.

cutaway of a pot melt

I remember somewhere I saw a side view cutaway of a pot melt showing the interior of the pot how the glass flows out of the pot.
Does anyone know where it might be?
Thanks so much

White rain extra hold from the dollar store. After this stuff dries, you can build a house with it.

Re: Drop bowl

[quote="JestersBaubles"]You need a few inches all the way around. To some extent, the bigger the span, the more glass you need around the edge. Also, you need a very controlled (read: low & slow) firing schedule. Also take this very seriously, "Speed comes from the d evi l" I...

Re: steel backing for glass

Hi Peter
If you can get access to a sandblaster, you can add texture (read that as "tooth" to the metal.
It does a very good job.

Re: out of the norm and need firing schedule

That is exactly what I would do. Is to clean them up and then fuse them to a sheet of clear.
Also I would never take another class from this "(instructor)"

Re: glass is breaking

I am confused. Why are you using BE clear? I would get to a window repair shop and buy 6 mm float glass. The reason is 2 fold. 1. Cost 2. BE glass is not fully annealed when it comes out of the leahr like it is when it comes out of your kiln (if you anneal correctly) I would bet dollars to donuts th...

Re: Polishing any fused glass in a rock tumbler

HI JUD, When I was doing the Saturday market rout, I did a LOT of faux sea glass with a glass tumbler and could hardly keep up with the demand :>). The only way that I could, was to keep raising my prices until I started to take some home, then drop them back a little bit. Mostly from (Damn I hate t...
