My favorite kiln is the one I built. But I had the pleasure of using a Scutt Clamshell for a few weeks and I love it. Both kiln and controller were perfect.

Nikki, For $100 I would grab it and ask questions later. I think I feel a toothache coming on, time to talk to my dentist. It looks like what I see at the high end jewelry supply shop here in Salt lake. I was thinking something like this. A flameworkers/labglass blowers tool. http://www.littonengr.c...

A good machinist could make the adapter and I see no reason it wouldn't work IF the smaller spindle can handle the load you intend to place on it. Does it look like this? http://www.wellsdental.com/Techbull/Catalog/wellscat/Pages%20from%20WellsCat.11-14.pdf This isn't what I think of when I hear &qu...

You were dreaming sort of. Another poster described a method of drawing a design in sharpie or whatever on the dichro, recoating the drawing and then puting the etching cream on. The dichro survives under the sharpie. I tried it and it works great. To have a black design I use my dremel to grind awa...

I'll take a shot. The first ramp must be upward as you say. I don't know if the small one you put in is enough. I would unplug and wait a few seconds. Turn back on and let temp drop to the mid 900 range and then start a program that will first ramp to the 1100 (not AFAP, what's the hurry?) and then ...
