Need QUALITY 7" diamond saw blade
When I bought my baby tile saw, I wasn't thinking about replacement blades but apparently I should have been! My saw takes a 7-inch blade. All the good ones I've seen (Crystalite, yellow blazer, etc.) are 6, 8, etc. inches.
Am I crazy or am I not looking in the right places??!?

Point well taken, but...
Lani, point well taken. But it seems to me that there are 3, possibly 4, major divisions in glass:
cold (has its own assn)
blown
torch
kiln-formed
Seems like it's not too much to ask to have those 3 well-represented.

insight into the nominating process...
Gee, most orgs I know are begging for folks, so to have possibly two warmglassers turned down seems odd, as does the 4 people for 4 slots.
I wonder if Pete could/would give us the benefit of his insider's perspective on the nominating process?

G.A.S. Protest Vote
I received my Glass Arts Society ballot a day or so ago. There are no warm glass candidates. I am torn between returning the ballot with a note saying I am not voting, in protest; and writing in a candidate such as our own Brad Walker. Any thoughts, any other GAS members out there tired of it being ...

same with fiber board?
I still haven't rigidized my fiberboard (for use as a continuous shelf in my bathtub kiln when I need that continuous surface). Same type of thing, saturate 1 side, let dry, saturate other? Or what?

So how come...
I got a glass piece as a present & hung it outside my front door on a shepherd's hook. It hung from a couple of strands of beadalon or some similar product. One day, it just shattered - found it on the ground. The hanging part was still on the hook, but the rest was in bits. I figured it was bec...

Fountains - lots of good books
Fountains are wonderful, agreed, but you definitely need to start with some basic technical info on water pumps, tubing, electrical requirements, etc. I would recommend that you look into some of the many books on making table-top fountains. In fact, your local stained glass retailer probably has on...

those blasted guns!
Are there any alternatives to the pistol-grip guns that you have to squeeze the trigger? Those just make my hands ACHE after about 30 seconds. I spent several hours sand-blasting yesterday and I swear, I'm about to file for disability!!

You're in the Wroooonnnnnggggg group if you want us to dissuade you from adding to your tool collection. Just today I saw this cool cabinet that allows you to blast big panels - they don't have to fit into the cabinet - there are gaskets that allow the glass to hang out the sides. Check out the Dobb...

I've been in the same position as you may be in -- re pattern bars in specific, I've probably had them covered in depth in 3 different workshops. I have to say, as impatient as I am, I've learned something every time - either from the instructor or from those around me. Same with frit wafers - which...
