Re: Any idea how this is done
Love these. Cut out design on top piece. Put a transparent color for bottom layer. Cut out fiber paper where you want the glass to puff out. Place under both layers and fuse. I am attaching puffy glass directions that worked very well for me. Have fun http://www.glass-fusing-made-easy.com/puffy-gla...

Any idea how this is done
I have sent an email to the artist but have not received a reply. I am wondering how this is done. The listing says it is hand carved and fused glass.

Re: Can I double up
Thanks everyone, I guess it doesn't hurt to ask. It seems a shame for all that extra space to be wasted

Can I double up
My kiln is 11" deep. My question is can I put 2 shelves in to fuse glass at the same time. If I put a 1" stilt under the bottom shelf and then another 1 or 2" stilt to hold the next shelf on top of the first shelf would this work or not?
Thanks,
Vicki
Thanks,
Vicki

I will have to do some searching to see how the pulley system works then. Does it attach to the ceiling?

Re: Need help with this schedule
Thank you both for the replies. As I was looking through the board I found a post on knowing your kiln I am going to do the tests that were on the bullseye site and see what happens. I guess I should have done this in the first place instead of being so anxious to get firing

Re: Lid Lifter
You can rig a lid lifter with very little engineering knowhow. It just takes a couple of pulleys, called snatch blocks, attached to the ceiling, and a cable with a counterweight. A good tip is to use a bucket for the counterweight. You can put something heavy in it, but the final adjustment of how ...

Need help with this schedule
I'm not sure if I should have put this in the newbie section or not but here goes. I fused this flower using Spectrum96 the petals have one smaller piece of glass on top for extra strength. It fused flatter than what I really wanted and I had already adjusted my segment 4 down from 1475 to 1440. I a...

Re: Sieve Mesh Sizes
Thankyou everyone. I was looking at these ones and wondered if they would be okay but I didn't know about mesh sizes. The one I was looking at says 14" Hand Sieve but it comes in a 7" as well and 3 sieves.

Sieve Mesh Sizes
Can anyone tell me what mesh sizes they use for sifting their own frit. Also can vermiculite board be used as kiln shelves and if so can they be cut to fit the kiln?
Thank you

Sandblasting What to use
I have a question about sandblasting, I have a compressor and I am about to buy the sandlasting gun but I am not sure what type of sand or glass do you use for sandblasting devit or other imperfections.
Thanks for any info on this.

Thanks Paul for taking the time to reply. I will do a search now. I have been addicted to stained glass for a few years now and I dare say when I start fusing this will be a new addiction for me.
Thank you again

Hello, I am interested in trying glass fusing and want to know can I use an electric ceramic kiln for glass fusing. If so is there anything special I need to know.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
