Re: No more Magless Exchange?
Have heard nothing from anyone. Is there no longer interest? Is it too early to ask? Tick tock- tick-tock... time marches ever onward. If those wanting to do this would replay by 15 January We can see IF there's interest.

I am also curious. I had said I'd coordinate it this year, that was before our daughter got engaged. Her wedding is Feb 13, 2016. I would still volunteer, but I'd be forced to make a Mid-March date... if there is any interest. So I wait to hear if my services are required.

Re: Waffers
Me, too. I have several threads pasted into a searchable document. I used to keep it in a database, but my system moved on and I can't afford to bring the database along. It is pricey, but it really did a lot for me. I suppose I should "find" the money somewhere, but right now it can't hap...

Cate, You may wish to check if your area has an Apple Users Group also. They are groups that meet monthly (generally) have nominal annual dues (generally) help members learn about topics of interest to you without ulterior motives (selling you some service or hardware). In our Mac User group we cove...

Havi,
I'm grateful for your interest in this topic and all the questions. I am trying to use wafers for something also. Thank you for being such a good contributor to this board, too.

It's not a webinar, but love watching Lynda.com when I want to learn something in my Adobe software. I can pause, rewind, follow along, download the files, etc. Lynda.com focuses on software and covers a broad spectrum from Microsoft to Adobe from databases to photos.

Re: How to use this bottle stopper?
I'd just drill a hole in a nice thick piece of glass. Use a good glue...and enjoy. You don't need cork. I might notch the metal tine so it holds the glue better, or not. Where did you get them?

Re: firing schedule question
Thank you for the reference. I communicated with an artist who draws using frit. She said she doesn't go over 1325°F and only left it at 1325°F for 5 min. So I amended one of the Skutt schedules (I have a Skutt kiln) for fast-tack and adjusted the schedule's highest temp to be 1325°F. I've attached ...

firing schedule question
I'm not exactly 'new'. But I thought this question might benefit more than me. I'm trying to use the past conversations to look up recommended firing schedules for using Elmers glue with frit in a drawing. If I input "firing schedules" I find 317 uses of the phrase, but I when I try to def...

I only see your lovely tiger composition. But others have mentioned a bird. But I don't see it.

Re: Has anyone perfected opaque frit balls?
I have taken to cutting up my small shards of glass, no matter what type they are, into small squares. I place them on thin fire and follow BE's schedule. They by-and-large turn out just fine. I have many in Fr. Vanilla and soft black as well as several opaque Saturday sheets. Since I'm not using ki...

Re: Bullseye Lesson on making patterns on Irid glass
This board is the BEST! Thank you for the help. I just got my hubby out of the hospital... that phlegmy cough that is going around sidelined him. So I was spending a lot of time sitting and/or reading down there. NOW I can cut loose and try a couple of these great tips. The best New Year to YOU!!!

Re: Lowest temperature for mica
I was told that one can reuse mica that hasn't stuck to the glass, but when it came out of the kiln the mica was transformed from a gold to a rust color. I didn't know if the color was okay with me, if the mica itself would be okay? (I'm testing how the mica powder responds when used without a mediu...

Leslie,
If it is just a single sheet, how do you keep it from shrinking up?

Cynthia,
Thank you. I didn't know if the clear was used with some media, rather than being dry if it made a difference. Now I see it doesn't. Off to purchase some large patterned lace. Thanks for the tips.
Happy New Year.

Bullseye Lesson on making patterns on Irid glass
Screen Shot 2014-12-28 at 4.51.23 PM.png I have been viewing the Bullseye lesson on putting clear powder on irid glass. At the end they have suggested uses including making your own sheet of patterned glass and have a sample. The process throughout the video is to sprinkle clear glass over the irid...

Re: Are Bullseye Videos Lessons worth the expense?
Well, I see you have heard from many that they are worth the money. I will also endorse them. They often create questions for me in something they show, but isn't the basis of the film. For example on the clear powder over irid, I'm interested in if the final example is screen printed. But that wasn...

Re: 2015 Magnet Exchange Now Underway
Because we now need baggies to put our maglesses in I thought I'd offer anyone the opportunity to join me and share some small baggies. I'm attaching a photo here so you can see the two I'm entertaining. The one that is 3 x 3 is padded. (Which I thought would be ideal for glass) The second one is 2....
