Gecco glass as bead glass

A recent discussion was posted on using compatable Gecco glass, distributed by Glass Craft of Houston. The merits and downfalls were disussed. I had some time to put some clear in a torch and was not pleased with the results. Quite a bit of milkyness to it. Check the link http://community.webshots.c...

yes that sounds pretty reasonable. blast and stain one side, trace and mat on the other.

More pics for you from that book, hope this works

Yes there is some silver staining, my pic is much better. With the etched flashed (acid etched I asume) can this be duplicated with sandblasting, or does it leave the glass too pitted for even matting. and if so I wonder if it could be warmed up just enough to smooth out the sand etching, but still ...

The more you can say about it the better, thanks . I really am facinated with old heraldic panels. It is a picture I took out of a huge book of Heraldry, panels and cartoons, German I think. 18"x24" I would guess. The book must have been 100 years old itself. No photography of course, but ...

Gecco glass was not designed to be compatable. It just happens to be. Well some of it that is. They must have 100 differnent colours by now. With that amout of glass, some is bound to be compatable. In the Glasscraft show room they have several sheets of fired compatable chip tests. I wouldn't be su...

Ya but: I trust chinese armstrong glass because Ive tried it. I truly believe that it's made to Armstrongs specifications. but I don't like Gecco glass because it's breakes and flexes in the strangest way, and it's pretty uninteresting. Spectrum glass is much more interesting, yikes!! A story from a...

I have been in there show room and requested their color sheet of compatables twice, and they didn't have it in stock, and havnt sent it yet. I'm anoyed with that. The glass is dirt cheep, $1.50/ft or so. The big but: do you trust chinese made glass to be the same coe on each batch? Those samples we...

Painted glass ?

consider this panel. on the small red and white shield, the red and white crest/hat, and the blue lion shield. Are the white areas flashed glass that has been etched to clear, or can enamel be that good? http://community.webshots.com/s/image8/8/92/69/114889269ICjsZN_ph.jpg Liam Moderator's note: I e...
