Re: Time to purchase small wet belt sander - need your input
I don't know what type or size of work your planning but a "dry", hand held grinder suggested above would not come close to providing the precise, quality work I can do with my WBS!! Don't cheap out with your tools!...it will show in your end products.

Re: Time to purchase small wet belt sander - need your input
If your studio is a finished room inside your house, then that is not the place for a wet belt sander.....too messy. Depending on your circumstances you could maybe plan on having it in a garage or out building..then you could get the big one which is much more versatile. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Go and stop and go? Or just go?
I recall Boyd Lundstrums (sp?) second book "Advanced Fusing" recomends holding and or changing rates at 300F for some reason, ..also he talked about letting heating of mold catch up to heating of glass.........I'm removed from my library right now or I would check.

I was told by a glass blower (when I experienced the exact same problem you describe) that some glass( especially yellow) can change the coeficienct of expansion at high temperatures. Noting that the temperatures we use on pot melts is higher than we normally fire at, I accepted this theory and gave...

Hi Tyler:.........I'm the one who made those small squares you saw at Kaliedo...I do use 18 to 20 coats but there is no waiting. I spray with airbrush in one hand and hot hair dryer in the other hand. The stuff dries as fast as you spray it on.I use Klr-fire for the spray medium (you can get that at...

Armstrong "Float Fire-82"
If it were not enough of a challenge keeping my "90" Bullseye, Wasser, and Urob. separate from my "96" Spectrum and Urob. now I see Armstrong has introduced "Float Fire 82" to be compatible with "all" float. I'm always glad to see more choice being offered but ...
