1. overlap the strips slightly
2. bevel the edges of the strips so they fit one under the other
3. add a bunch of clear frit over the seams
4. don't expect the sheet to come out of this operation scar-free!
good luck-
Jackie

Phil, I think you are (as many of us are) much tougher on your own work than you are on those of your peers. You come over here and rave about a new piece of mine, when in reality, every piece I've ever made has some flaw or another that I could find and point out to you. Granted, in my style of wor...

Just got my catalog today and it's a beauty..... tell Lani it's better than ever. And is it my imagination or are there all kinds of new toys this time around? I only wish there were as many glass videos as there are jewelry videos available in my other fave catolog from Rio Grande.... but, that's ...

Doc Steve is just the best guy! Listen to this - (ok, well, read this) I just got done with a week long slumber-party with my best girlfriend since the fifth grade. (Now are kids are almost as old as we were when we met! ) She had flown out from Chicago and I just returned home from taking h...

Maybe Jackie will post her painting she did with Paradise Paints. It was very painterly...and a good painting taboot. Well, this is my first and only attempt with the paints, but some day I intend to play around with them a little more. Maybe when I have loads of free time . . . !! (so, maybe . . ....

Avery and I have been incredibly lucky in the quality of students we have had. Steve, Phil, Jackie, Amy, Cindy, Jim Robbins, Dick Ditore, Cynthia Oliver, and that's just from one workshop, Sorry folks, I have definitely missed naming many other great students, but I just can't list them all. You kn...

I've done lots of high-fires . . . no saucer. All the term means is the process temp for the particular procedure is higher than that of normal full-fuse temps. Usually a range between 1600 to 1700 and generally involving a soak at these high temps. Actually, I would think combing qualifies as a hig...

Re: Thanks & 1 more question
Thanks for the info, all! If the process was complete in 5.52 hours, then the rest of the time must have been annealing and cool down. Then the question is, once I see the CPL, can I unplug the kiln and go to bed? (I was up every half hour until 4AM and it still read 256 degrees - at which point I ...
