I doubt if the flower pot would break since it was probably fired hotter to begin with.... clay and pottery is almost always fired hotter than glass, in some cases much hotter. That's part of the reason ceramics kilns are so much beefier than glass kilns... they have to work harder and at higher tem...

Do you suppose it's because the man-made stones are getting so good that those will become "semi-precious" and all things natural will be elevated to total precious-ness? I'm trying to think up a cloning analogy along the lines of your pregnancy comment.... but, too mentally slow to...

Hxtal is a very expensive glue developed for the museum industry... it's claim to fame is that it yellows much more slowly than other glues, thus it's usefulness in conservation.

Don't fire them.... this is an example of "striking".... a common occurence in red and orange glasses. Can you make your own globs with some fuse-compatible glass?

Oh, silly.... the Mesopotamians didn't have clay flower pots with holes in the bottoms! (I made that up, how would I know?) Seriously, who thought to put a bunch of scrap glass into a flowerpot to make these cool rondels? Who posted the technique first at warmglass.com? I'll bet we could track a mod...

I have to ask what is probably a dumb question. Why are these melts oblong instead of round? Can you control the end shape and how? I've been bad about reading all the posts, so if you've already covered this, I'm sooooorrrryy! :? Dani

Try searching the archives here, too.... Conservator's Emporium used to carry it, but maybe only in large quantities. And, who was it, someone on this board was selling in smaller portions (?) Try Hxtal when you search. Or it may be buried in long discussions about glues....

Cubic Zirconia is one of the few stones that you can fuse/use..... check some jewelry boards or books for stones that are cast-able directly into silver settings. These will also hold up to glass fusing temps.... this is presuming they are small enough not to cause compatability issues with the glas...

I thought Marty told us we couldn't "just plug in and go".... I remember thinking about one of those for the big Skutt, but it would still have needed some re-wiring... or some kind of modification. Does anyone remember this thread? Thanks ~ D.

Be sure and find out the specifications of using someone else's cc set-up or sharing a cc service. There are very specific rules against certain actions and stiff penalties if you get caught. It sounds terrible, doesn't it?? The way it was explained to me by one provider.... I would lose every credi...

I couldn't find a company that didn't require both the knucklebuster and the swiper/keypad. I should have spent more time scoping things out, but was in a hurry to get set up for a military job. They had just required credit card use on all purchases under $2500. It pays to shop around, especially i...

LOL. That's a good approach. Write down the Perfect Employee description, then judge from there. Seems like a great way to communicate your expectations right up front and discern if you're getting results during the process. Most folks never start out with a good plan. That's why so many situations...

You cannot use a corporate checking account as a personal one. That is "breaking the corporate veil" and essentially negates the corporation. If you are a sole proprietorship, you should also keep your business and personal checks separate. Take a "draw" check on a regular basis ...

I vote for S Corp., too.... however, I'm doing research on LLCs as I think they offer some advantages over the S Corp. No matter how little you think you have, the protective benefits of an incorporation in this day and age cannot be overlooked. I have had experiences in the last year.... and gained...
