Las Vegas Glass Expo

This may be the wrong forum for this post, but I wasn't quite sure where to place it..............and since I consider myself a relative newb, figured this was as good as anywhere. Please let me know if it needs to be moved. Anyone here going to be in Vegas for the Glass Expo next week? I'll be down...

Re: 2013 Magnet Exchange Now Underway

Happy Dance! How much fun is opening that box? Just Wow! Truly going to have to step up my game next year. Lovely work, everyone: =D> Kind of feel a bit like the girl who showed up to the dance in the same dress as someone else - after all the 'already done that' ideas I scrapped, I can't believe I ...

Re: 2013 Magnet Exchange Now Underway

Is it silly that I woke up this morning, went out to check the kiln, and suddenly thought "Hey, I think it's sorting day!" Just newbie excitement? I simply cannot wait to see each beautiful piece and learn from everyone's experiences!

It sounds like silvadene - really good stuff, but I'm pretty sure you have to have a script to obtain it so that may not be what she was referring to.

Re: retractable badge holders

Office Depot carries some - though I'm not sure how secure the bond would be. There is a gal who posts on a blog called Clayton Hills that makes exactly what you are describing. Perhaps she would be willing to share her supplier if you contact her.

Re: Pot Melt Primer

I know this post is from a couple months back, but I wanted to dredge it up again and share some info..... I am currently taking a vitrograph class with Nathan Sandberg (formerly of BE education) at my wonderful local studio, Fusions, in Eagle, Idaho. In his initial presentation, he talks about the ...

How cool would that be? Would love to know if anyone has had success with this - especially since it has been years since my press has actually been used for cookies!

Beautiful, vibrant colors. Curious - if you don't mind sharing, what did you use for your base? Thanks for sharing!

Re: lettering fused into or onto glass

If you decide to go the decal paper route, I can tell you that the HP P1606dn works well. I recently purchased one specifically for a project doing sponsor awards - photographs with text on each piece. Worked quite nicely.

Re: wire saw or band saw

I'm a relative newbie to glass craft.........quickly addicted, and quite surprised by the amount of 'investment' I've already made in tools and supplies. I noticed in a recent catalog that one retailer is currently offering the Taurus III for $379 but also has the Taurus II kit for $149. Bearing in ...

I am also relatively new to the fused glass world..........and like you, purchased the Paragon 16 Starter Kit from Bullseye, have read just about every tutorial available and also purchased the plans and built the strip cutter on the fusedglass.org site. Given your arthritis, one thing you will be p...
