There are lots of companies that sell table tops that are not tempered. Your general liability insurance should cover you on it. If it were 1/4" it might be more of a problem than the thicker glass. I would put a disclaimer with the top if it were used outside. You never know what kind of envir...

I've used my non stainless wok for at leats 75 uses and still going. just don't go too hot. Float glass I slump at about 1250 on my equipment. different equipment will vary. many times I don't even put new kiln wash but maybe every 5 firings.
