Ron, this is my problem. I can't budge the thing. The coil is so thick it won't stretch---which it needs to do to get back into ints channel. It was suggested to heat it up with a torch. won't that put an inordinate amount of stress on one part of the element? Also, I have no idea why or how it got ...

The element is falling more and more, so that it is now underneath my kiln shelf, or I rest the element on the shelf. I really want to get it back home. This is a pic of what I'm talking about. Help, please!

Another Kiln Repair Q
I have an element that has crept out of its channel in the side of my 'round' Paragon. The wire is particularly stiff and thick and I have not been able to stretch or pinch it, even while warm, to get it back in the channel. It's just hanging out there. I have heard of a special plier that is used f...

Since we use powdered separator, a hole is filled with the powder before sifting the remainder over the board. My fiber boards get a lot of abuse, so there is a lot of 'spackling' of dry powder. If you use the kiln wash wet, I think you could probably come up with a solution based on the spackling t...

Process is a difficult thing to claim. That would require a patent rather than a copyright. A Design can be copyrighted, but process is a different matter. If you're not copying EXACTLY the same fish, etc, than there really isn't a case for copyright infringement, in my whatever opinion  . A w...

Bert, I did a water fountain and filled it with lapis, quartz, amethyst, agate etc etc etc. Customer has the worst case of crud deposit I ever saw. A lapidary expert said to use Brick Wash from Home Depot/Lowes. Seems to have taken care of the problem. Sounds like there might be a lime or calcium (I...

RCN Kilns revisited
I just got an up-close and personal look at the RCN sink kilns that were discussed recently. they are sumthin'. Had to have a translator, since they are made in Italy, but what fun. What you didn't know is that you also need an annealing kiln. However, you can put several sinks in it at a time and o...

More on the subject. I agree with Kevin 150%. There is even more to the story, however. Kevin mentioned the agent needs only to change a little of the design to knock it off. There are even more unscrupulous people out there who simply knock off the design exactly (yes, even copyrighted ones), with ...
