Re: colourless glue

Hello,
I use a glue sold by the German company TGK.
I don't know if or who in USA sells it. But it glues absolutely clear, and set very quickly [in the Israeli sun]

I am sure they have some distributors in USA. I assume you can ask them.

Good luck

Re: Two pieces for the price of one.............

Thanks, Don, for your response and advise. This was photoed by a very good professional photographer. One who photographed at least 70 museum catalogues in Israel. Himself had a photo exhibition in NY. However, I think that he positioned the piece on white background, and had a special lamp directed...

Two pieces for the price of one.............

Hello Friends,
It had been a long time since I posted here.
Said to myself , why not?

Then here are 2 sides of a mesh melt, where I challenged myself to work with whites only, and black too.

Hope you like it

Re: How to Tell Good Art from Bad?

I really do not know..................... I find that my pieces where I have human faces are 'working ' strongly on those who view them, even though I have not invested too much thinking on them.. I feel that this is not REALLY art, but good technique, at the best case, and a 'nice' piece. I want to...

Re: Vermiculite up to what temp. can it be fired???

Many thanks, Sharol for your input. So, there is more than 10 degrees difference between our firing rate, Also I think, that the length of the stay in this temp. is important. As I said, I sat at 927C i.e. 1700F for 45 minutes. [The originally recommended time was an hour and a half, but I was scare...

Vermiculite up to what temp. can it be fired???

Hi everybody............. Just uncovered my vermiculite board in the kiln and found a crack in it..... I had fired mesh melt, 45 minutes at 1700. The board has a crack on it. Is it possible that the board cracked because of the temperature? Up to what degree can the vermiculite be fired safely??? ma...

Re: How do I full fuse keeping the original shape...

Many thanks, Warren and Brad. Yes, you are right I have no patience for experiments..... But I LOVE this piece SO MUCH, that I will not take the risk to ruin it. For a change. I will experiment. From a compositional point of view, I do not think that tack fusing will be good. Miriam Di Fiore gave me...

So very excited to agree with ALL that had been said here. Yessss, I also believe you are doing wonderful miracles with your combing. So original, so nicely put in the composition. Not a technique, but a composition. I hope I am making my self clear. Love your work Sharol. BTW I am also playing with...

Re: tack fusing 4 layers 3mm without dams to keep the volume

Hi,
As much as I know, if you sift very thin layer of transparent powder between the layers
AND
go slow between 600Centigrade to 660/680 , 30 dph - you will eliminate air bubbles..

It works for me.

Re: BE 1411, anyone knows????

Many thanks!
The glass I bought is 1.5 millimeter, few sheets of it.
We'll see what happens with it.

There is another 'something' red that I bought which is not on the catalog - but this one I do not recall the number.

I'll post a question later.
Thanks again, you are the best!
