I've found that I really can't stand keeping all that change around and therefore if someone pays cash I pay the tax . . . heavens knows I should have enough cushion in my coffers. If the total is large 'nuf I would charge although round down . . . (yet another reason to do primarily wholesale, no t...

Re: wholesale

I delivered the first order as I was going to be nearby, but it is too far for future orders,of which they are already requesting more. thanks, Dick Woweeee, ...

My website has been active since 1995 and I've been selling with a secure server since 1996. My site is geared towards purchase, my new bead and findings site is the same. there hasn't been a problem with any of the galleries that sell my work. There is a retail side and a password protected wholesa...

Well said Ellen, I read this message and went down to the studio to work and had a difficult time not leaving my project to come up and answer this. Harumph. 4. That said, the originators of patent laws already worked through all of the objections and counter-objections launched in this thread. The ...

Susan, I've a different spin on this . . . spontaneous genius. How can we draw the line on creative expression, certainly not with a piece of paper. How many times have many of us opened a magazine or checked out a link on this board only to see a variation of something we've been working on and scr...

Nancy, Our policy if we are taking an assistant is to pay their transportation and hotel, pay their food and then pay for a full 8. Way too much overhead for us. If it's really important for you to be able to walk the floor I'd suggest finding someone in the area who could come in to help with set-u...

Thanks Phil. Maybe all my years at marketing and that dang newspaper are continuing to pay off  Wholesale is a tad different. I make certain that my catalogs are NOT where they can be picked up without my getting a business card back from the interested gallery. Of course if they refuse to giv...

I have what I believe to be the perfect solution . . . ha! at least it is for me. I got tired of entering all those addresses into my computer data base so had a beautiful postcard made up with the information on the back suggesting to customers to go to my website and do the email sign-up for unadv...

ask around and keep asking, we purchased a crusher from someone who was going to upgrade 'cause this one was slow. We can live with slow. We paid $400 and it is fabulous. there are always deals out there. It sat unused in our glass storage shed for 3 plus years, we decided to sell it and my husband ...

If you want straight sides with no indentation, yet a rounded appearance to the edge then you are firing way too hot. try lowering the temps and soaking longer. If you look at my pieces you'll see what I mean. If you want a very straight side then you need to coldwork and firepolish. experiment with...

Cynthia, I've had interesting conversations with friends who are going much the same 'route' that you are choosing. They actually have two names and market the lesser expensive under one name and the more expensive under another and have admonished me because in the beginning I did everything under...

I don't think you are wrong. I think we might be talking about different directions of how and where we (collectively) take the work we do. I was just speculating from one of my experiences. I had one gallery that asked that I pull my work from another because the price point and clientelle were of...
