Funny you should mention this Rosanna. Our state Arts and Crafts guild just alerted us to the fact that there is a group in the Eastern part of the US right now where they watch then one person distracts the artist while another goes for the cash. They were saying to keep our money on on our person....

Dani, I got an EZ-up about 3-4 yrs ago at Sam's Club for $200. Only had 3 side curtains but I made a 4th. The others gave you good choices for side curtains too. My tent has been a good one. I do stained glass too and I do hang stuff off the sides of my tent. I also secure my hanging grids to the te...

I add my tax in the price. I also tell the people that they are paying tax that it has already been added in so that I don't have to deal with pennies and charts at shows. What I do is just take my final total minus the tax base ( I have a formula for this) and then pay tax on that amount. If you wa...

Unmolding glass from mold???
Hi, I have been using a mold that you make a dish out of a bottle with. The outside of the mold has straight sides and the inside goes from narrow on the bottom to wide on top so in theory there should not be an unmolding problem. If all the bottle stays inside of the mold top and bottom of the bott...

An warm glass instructor told me to use wet sandpaper and water to sand the edges of the ground glass. Here is what I do. Immediately after I am done grinding the piece of glass I toss it in a pan of water until I get several pieces then I sand the edges of the glass under water in the pan then agai...

Lisa, I did a little more than tac fused more of almost a contour fuse of BE frit on a flattened bottle that seems to be just fine. There is a good deal of relief texture but the frit is not coming off. This thing gets picked up and touched all the time. This one turned out so well I plan on doing m...

I agree with Phil. I always tell people that write a check or use a credit card that I will not use the information for any reason other than to get in touch with them incase the check or card don't go through. I do get phone numbers for this purpose. What I do instead of using a mailing list is inc...

Hi all, I corrosponded with John around the first of the year. He sent me some samples of his products. They look just like our dicro only it is sometimes fused between plastic and sometimes glass. Some of his line has a fabric backing on it. It is very interesting. I don't know about the heat thing...

Lori, relief or contour fuse is like a tack fuse. It just depends on how much you want the edges to round down into the bottom layer. Honestly when they are in the bottom shelf I take what ever happens since I can't see what's going on. This is the terminology I picked up on theSpectrum firing sched...

fusing on two different shelves
Lori, I'm a newbie to this warm glass thing also. I was so bummed when I found out that I couldn't fill the kiln with various things at one time and have everything comeout just right. What I have found to be true with my kiln is that if I want a full fuse on one piece and a contour or relief fuse o...

Attaching zinc or brass channel to picture frame
I must be dumb as a box of rocks since I cannot figure this out but here goes. I want to make fused glass picture frames, how on earth do I either attach hanging loops to the back of the glass or attach a zinc or brass channel to the back of the glass frame so that I can use an easel back? For that ...

Identifing Some Glass
Hi all, I was fortunate to be able to buy some fusing glass and decals from a lady who inherited if from her Dad that had a studio. Here is my problem she has no idea what kind of glass it is. I have looked at Bullseye and Wasser colors and it isn't there. This stuff is at the very least 10 years ol...

Charlie, The mold is about 1/4 in thick. looks like a plate that might be found in ceramics bisque only with 4 holes in it. I think that I really need to get it up off the kiln shelf. Next try will be on kiln furniture. This has been the biggest learning curve I have had for quite a while. I am real...

Barb I soaked 40 minutes. That seemed to be enough for the fuse. That is also what was recommended by Spectrum. It was all Spectrum glass. Did you ever think that some piece wasn't meant to be? That is how I am beginning to think about this one. I will start all over and try another. It was very Chr...

Lisa my schedule for the down after 960 was 100/955/40, 100/800/0, 200/400/0, off but my kiln goes down very slowly. I have never cracked a piece of glass in the kiln until this one. Given I haven't done tons of glass but I have fuse a fair amount and slumped a lot of things some of which were fused...
