A few questions-How large a diameter circle, and how does she run the score. When you say she pops them out, just how does this happen? Can she do this with all glass types, ie Spectrum, BE, float, etc., and all thicknesses?I have cut alot of circles and would love to learn something new.

Charlie-I've boraxed irid and yes, it does leave it blotchy. It is actually a very interesting look, and boraxing over irid while selectively masking is something I'm going to explore some day. Expect a kind of "spatter ware" effect. Tony

Jerry covered it pretty well, but I'll add a few cents worth. I buy glass wholesale, and I sell it retail so I see both sides. The bigger distributors will require multiple proofs of business status, and an opening order of $1000-$1500, or invoices demonstrating a wholesale relationship with another...

I was in Philly and enjoyed meeting Stuart, and in Feb. Dani. The foot traffic was down but our sales were up. The summer show is always a distant second to Feb but still worth my while. Most of my fellow exhibitors did not have a good show. I heard of sales being off from 40 to 60% and some wrote n...

Yes you can Deena. Make sure to kiln wash the SS well, and insure that the furniture it is resting on does not create an undercut, or else the glass may embrace the form, and not want to let go. Good luck.

There are a few ways you could deal with this. Pick the spot that you think it will most likely end up in, and mark the floor. Level it by using shims, then code the shims so you know what kiln leg each one goes to. When you roll your kiln away, and then return you just have to line it up with the f...

Dave-I,m curious. Why would an electric kiln have any kind of reducing atmosphere at all. I could see that a gas kiln would, but what is in an electric kiln to consume oxygen? Since the density of a gas decreases as temperature increases that conceivably could be the cause, but to what degree, and w...
