Hey guys: I too am thinking about the Skutt 1018 because I would also like to make ceramic tiles (the 1018 is a kiln that is deep enough to fit tile setters and gets hot enough to do ceramics but is also a glass kiln). As my current kiln only has elements on the top, am I going to have to relearn ev...

 dang..... maybe this lesson that was learned was - don't buy used stuff from other people.... if may be cheaper, but I just lost $35.00 in glass..... (oh well, instead of bowl, it may just be a funky window piece with beads in the middle of the holes.... hmmmmmmmm.....) Thanks for your help K...

:? Nope, don't think, that's it.... cuz I used a single sheet of Spectrum on the bottom and then covered the entire top with glass (squares and strips of glass side by side) making it the 1/4". I am thinking that there must have been something on the kiln shelf trapping air, but it sure looked ...

Why did I get holes???

Hey everybody out there: I put a project into my kiln last night - 11"x11" square Spectrum piece with lots of smaller pieces on top for the design so there shouldn't have been any bubbles (this is for a bowl that I have made at least 20 times already with no problems). Full fused and this ...

Ingrid: Why not use a stencil: place on glass, I brush on a small amount of glass glue with a paint brush so the powder will stick a little, dust glass powder over top, clean around edges of dragonfly after taking stencil off (I use a small rubber paint brush) and then fuse.... I have also used Para...

Old vs New

Hey Brad: I like the new Board too. As people have mentioned the old Board was getting so there was far too much info to weed through before you got to where you thought you wanted to go. I too am not computer savy, so I am afraid that I may miss something that I don't want to miss on this new one, ...

Brad (and everyone else): I'm at a computer in Houston, so as I am totally a computer dunce, please put my vote in the cheaper hotel. I loved last year's hotel, but as the Canadian dollar is only worth half yours ( ) the room ended up costing me quite a bit. I had great sleeps cuz I was exhau...
