You've probably already figured this out, but I find that Color Line self-levels and flows fairly significantly.
I've been having fun with it, but I'm also planning on some experiments on how not to have it flow.

Re: zyp coating
First of all, Dana. Let me congratulate you on all of the hard work you and Tanya have done for people in the warm glass field. You both have done a lot to further the education and the fun of the warm glass community. Different Dana :) (some days I wish I lived in Florida, but not this week) From ...

Re: zyp coating
Zyp still has to be removed. It can be brushed away with a paintbrush and then resprayed. However, it's nasty stuff to breathe and so I would not want to spray or brush in an enclosed area. I always work outside, and often even put on my respirator (or hold my breath - ha ha ;)). From the SDS: HAZAR...

They are very smooth (no burrs), but not rounded. I sand down the edges with a little sand paper, just like you would to take the edge off sharp glass.

Re: metal panels
I purchased a large sheet of aluminum (4'x8', i think) from a local metal company, and they cut it up for me in various sizes. I have enough to last me for quite some time, but those 30-some odd sheets I got were significantly less expensive (as in 10x) than buying what is being sold retail.

The stand for this piece is made from two 6x12" marble tiles from Home Depot sandwiching a 6 mm piece of glass (all held together with silicone). The little posts (you can see one behind the bird on the left side of the picture) are stainless steel welding rods, cut into small pieces. There are...

Re: Help! Can my ceramic frit mold be saved?
Kiln wash will leave a more textured surface than the BN. Make sure you are spraying from all directions; e.g., spray, turn 1/4 turn, spray, turn, etc. Make sure you are using Zyp and not the HighTemp 1800. My experience is HighTemp is inferior. Also, fire at the lowest temp possible and hold at sho...

Fiber paper on the drop ring will help give the glass something to hold on to.

Re: I got the decals - in contiuation of block printinhg...
Hello Havi! Put a little water on the surface of the glass -- that way, you can more easily reposition the decal if you need to. Just slide the decal downward on one edge of the paper, put that edge of the decal on the glass, and slowly pull the paper way as you smooth down the decal. Once it is pos...

Re: Woodblock printing on glass - ?
Hello Havi! Is it acceptable to put enamel directly on the wood or do you have to worry about staining the wood? There are also glue-based stamp pads -- stamp the image onto the glass and coat with glass powder. Also... it might be possible to take an image of the piece of wood, convert the image to...

Re: Does annealed glass bring liability?
I don't think many drinking glasses are tempered. Shower doors, car windshields, glass tabletops, diving masks, etc. -- there are items that are normally tempered. Some manufacturers do make tempered glass (Pyrex, Corelle), but it is not typical. You'll have the same liability as the rest of us work...

Re: jellyfish dropmelt kiln
Someone has done a tutorial, though I couldn't find it with a quick search. Post on Fused Glass Fanatics on FB, and someone can point you in the right direction. Some people accomplish this by using a stainless steel screen and leaving the screen in the glass, or you could do it by creating a breaka...
