If you did any grinding to your edges, that could be what you're seeing: grinder scum.

Try spraying and refiring first. I've "cured" devit on certain opals by doing that. You have to fire to about 1425° to cure the spray.

Take out the kiln shelf and place the flower former on the bottom of the kiln. Fire slow.

Boron Nitride is only rated to something like 1350° so it wouldn't hold up to fusing temps.

What kind of glass are you using? Bullseye's Marzipan for instance will often self-iridize. If you're using float or tempered, could it be the tin side showing?

Call and talk to them; I've had great customer service when I've explained what I'm trying to do.

I've occasionally had a scrap of dichro that has had sparkles burst off.

I simply can't imagine that a glass cleaner (any residue of which would burn off way sooner than the glass was softened) would be powerful to break the dichro coating's connection to the glass.

You can also just sprinkle coarse frit in the empty spaces on your shelf between items you're fusing. Spread them around so they're not touching. You'll get lots of tiny balls.

Lib, are the leaves open in the white areas? I've done a few tests with leaves similar and LOVE the organic nature of fusing a pile almost as found in nature. Beautiful!
