why bumpy Dichroic glass?
Me Kim, It might help if you give us a little more information. What kind of dichroic glass did your friend use? Was the glass smooth or did it have a raised pattern? Was the dichroic glass the same depth as the rest of the glass in the plate? Tell us a little more and we can probably help you out. ...

Kim,
I'm happy too, but will need a few days. I'm still recovering from a hard drive failure last month. I had been lax about backups, lost almost everything. I need to look up his information from invoices and haven't gotten around to it yet.

Christyn, I like your piece. It has an interesting design and good mix of colors. I'm not the best person to comment on jury slides. I thought the digital photos/slides I took of my work were great, but I wasn't getting into the good shows. My acceptance rate increased significantly once I bit the b...

Compressor Size?
Thanks for your advice.
I knew there was a lot there I needed to know before I bought anything. I'm getting a pressure pot and I'll be sure to get an oil compressor.
Thanks again.

Compressor size?
I went to Harbor Freight and Northern Tool this week to check out sand blasting equipment. The salesmen kept steering me to 5-6 hp, 4ft long compressors. I'm pretty sure that's more compressor than I need, but I don't what what will be enough. I don't plan to do a lot of sand blasting. Mostly clean ...

Setting Up a Warm Glass Studio
I am in the process of converting my garage from a make-shift studio into a full fledge studio, here are some of the things I've done so far. Applied Rustoeleum Expoxy garage floor coating to eliminate the concrete dust. I have four 8-foor double fluorescent lights. I've had two for a several months...

Arts Marketing Info Question
Do you have any friends in advertising? They have the information you want which they give free to clients and prospective clients. Anyone who works in an advertising agency can look it up for you.
Good luck.

Glass Dinnerware -- dishwasher safe?
A former glass instructor told me that glass dinnerware could not withstand the rapid temperature changes of a dishwasher. But I have seen dishwasher safe glass dinnerware. So what's the story? And, is there anything special I'd have to do to make the plates dishwasher safe?
Thanks,
Alecia

Ruth,
You can get a canopy at Sam's Club. They have them year round.
Good luck with your second show.

Removing epoxy?
I had several bails shift before the epoxy dried. Is there any way to salvage either the glass or the bails? And, to think I thought I'd have fewer failures with epoxy than with drilling holes.
Thanks,

Good Luck. And, remember that this is a learning experience. I've been doing shows for about 18 months and have learned so much, and I keep learning more every show that I do. Keep an eye on what sells and what doesn't. My original assumptions were wrong and consequently my product mix has had to ch...

Artist's Bio/Statement -- Critiques & Comments
The first thing I would say is that it is beautifully written. The words flow into one another in a way that makes the reader want to know what you are going to say next. Excellent Job! In my admittedly unexpert opinion, it definately fits the Artist Statement requirements and offers as much biograp...

I use the Lifetime tables that you buy at Sams Club. To get them up to height I use bed elevators that I buy at Bed Bath & Beyond for $14.95 for a set of 4. They work great. The only problem is it takes two people to move your table once it is set up. I hade a professional seamstress make table ...

One of my kilns is a Paragon SC2. It is a good reliable kiln. I like it and will continue to use it, it is just too small. It has a shelf size of 6" square, as does the other kiln you mentioned. The window in the other kiln is really too small to be very useful. It is very easy to open the kiln...
