OUCH... Thank for the warning, Lynn. I DO balance on the edge... even when I'm standing on a chair, cause otherwise I'd tumble in head first. This week Ihad to load the whole thing myself. I almost barfed trying to do the bottom layer. Still feel as if bruised where I was hanging over the edge. Glad...

Did you fuse the blank with the clear down on fiber paper? If so, perhaps that's part of the problem. (I stress the word "perhaps.") Last week I fused a piece with a piece of clear BE thin down on fiber paper (not thinfire). I'd planned to flip & slump with a polish. As expected, some ...

Hi Brian & Rosanna... I'd love the opportunity to do a bunch o' tests, but alas...NOT. This kiln is in the school, with lotsa competition for time. The enviro-vent is required by the school & goes on automatically. My guess is that it would help eveninity, even if it takes more time to run t...

Tips for firing mult-shelves?

I'm using a Skutt ceramic side-fired kiln --WITH Envirovent-- to fire students' (grades 4 - 8 ) work. It's deep-ish... in other words I can't reach the bottom although I'm all of 5 ft tall. Example of problem: I used a basic schedule to tack fuse 3 shelves of tiles. Tiles are single layer with varyi...

Re: Looking for a local Portland glass artist

Inaddition to getting materials at Clines they also have classes that are less expensive then Bullseye. Carla Carla's right about that. Tho I discovered my addiction at Bullseye, and took their 1st couple how-to classes, they were more of a tease than anything else. You don't get a chance to progra...

Jeff: you might want to check out Cline's for your supplies.... you can get Bullseye glass & products there... usually better prices than buying retail at the Bullseye Resource Center. Also, Cline's is a distributor of all sorts of tools as well. Best,

I'm not sure what you mean by "funny little symbol". Where's it at? After you click the printer symbol, you get the following: "Goto page 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7  Next  :||: " It's the symbol to the right of the word "Next" .... BB BUT I don't know why when I copied it ...
