boy, i like that Sunset Jump, 3 Giraffes, and Aqua Leap group. maybe you could send out the bails you have, and get them plated gold. that thought has occurred to me, too.
thanks for posting that link to your pendants ... really something different to see!

it may look like paint. i've seen pendants that were made the way you describe your process, with the dichro in the middle layer, and the etching on the very top of the clear cap. but the successful ones i'm aware of are not etched with cream, they are blasted and then usually firepolished, but not ...

Denise, if Tony says that thing from Michael's isnt any good, I'd be inclined to follow his advice. He knows a lot about blasting, from the cheapest to the most expensive. After reading his post, I think I'd be VERY inclined to listen to him. Maybe the Vari-Etch from HIS is the best idea, to be used...

i think your etched motif will perhaps be lighter than you desire. i fully understand your thinking about not getting into sandblasting because of the money, but that other post here about the kit from Michael's might really be worth looking into. alternatively, you could try a substance for bottle ...

the next time i experiment with this, i'm going to see what happens if the frit is moistened, probably with klyr-fire. i think it needs to be more cohesive to comb in the manner we desire.
i didnt spend very much time on this, but i intend to, and if i learn something worth mentioning, i'll post it.

it doesnt work as well as you might think. i thought i could apply techniques similar to those used in making marbled paper, that is, dragging a comb thru blobs of color, or stripes, and achieve a combed effect. the frit didnt comb the way i anticipated. so, i think the best results are achieved com...

i thought the seller was responsible for collecting sales tax and paying it to their own state. i'm surprised NC cared about where you bought your kiln. that's a new one on me. all states are realizing they can collect more and more money. it's not a Bush thing, it's a politician thing. politicians ...

it'll probably stay together, but fusing coated sides together doesnt work unless you're sandblasting away areas before fusing, etc. so, avoid putting the coated sides together in your future work, and all will be OK. i sometimes make a mistake and put a top piece on a pair of earrings, with the coa...

joyce, i dont know what you are selling, so it's hard to guess what a minimum order might be. but if it is smallish merchandise, destined for a gift gallery type of store, i should think a minimum order would be $250 or so. whatever the dollar amounts, you just want they to have a nice array of your...

joyce, you dont need to get too involved in credit checks that are done by a professional company. you can check things out yourself. you ask your prospective customer for a few references, which will be other people they buy from. you call those people up and ask 'em how they like doing business wi...

isabelle -- an opening order for me is typically about $750, with terms of Net 30. but i forgot to mention that i ASK the buyer whether they honor terms of Net 30. sometimes they say no, that they actually pay Net 45. i only have a couple of stores that pay that way, but since i know it, it's OK wit...
