Re: Using a stainless steel ring and scrap clear glass

Neat! Heh, the "it's alive" fits. I can't decide if it reminds me of a bird or insect!

That's a great way of doing it Laurie. Unfortunately, the JenKen is only about 6" tall inside!

Re: Larger kiln - schedule adjustments necessary?
Ha! Thanks Richard! I'm not going to doubt you. I may experiment if I have time, maybe in a few months. I can't tell you how happy I am with this kiln! Bought it VERY LIGHTLY used for about half of what a new one costs from someone a half hour away that was moving to another state. And going from a ...

Larger kiln - schedule adjustments necessary?
Hello! Now that I have my larger kiln (Jen-Ken 15/6), I was wondering... An example: If I use one shelf, with four smallish pieces on it, and I use a System 96 schedule... OR I use two, or even three shelves, with 10 smallish pieces on each shelf, with each shelf seperated with one inch risers... Do...

Booth display
How do you all hang your work? I imagine it has to be sturdy enough to hang glass work, attractive enough for display, and easy to take apart if someone buys something...
But what? Chains? Wire? Cord?
Please chime in, and let me know what size/type/color/where you bought it! Thanks!

Re: Display panels for show
Thanks Marty! Yep, it's treated lumber, and painted on all sides! I'm also going to hang VERY sheer white curtains on the outside of three sides that will allow light, but that you can't see the booths next to or behind me (if any are there).

Re: Fused disk = what would you do??
What if I did this:
Step 1: Rework the edge to take the grit off.
Step 2: Full fuse it upside down to turn the matt surface to glossy, which then becomes the top.
Step 3: Slump fuse it into the mold.
Would that work?

Fused disk = what would you do??
I'm stuck! :) Here's the background: I did a pattern bar, and it came out pretty good, although it curved slightly on the edges. No big deal, I know how to fix that next time. I sliced, and finally fused in a white circle. I cut a strip out of the white to leave a channel for the pattern slice. I us...
