Thanks for the great information. I'm learning so much, and have so much to learn. I let the kiln get up to 1500 degrees and then I flash vented down to about 1100. Same Glass - and it cracked when fused
Wondering what would cause the same glass to crack when fused together? I did several peices with high temp wire running all the way through the middle. Wondering if anyone out there has used the Hot Shot Kiln by Evenheat. this kiln has the Set Pro for setting temperature,time, etc. I set the temperature for 1000 degrees per hour, total degrees 1500, hold for 10 minutes. I just fired a clear plate and it has taken on the crumpled texture of my thinfire. If I refire it with kiln wash will it go back to having no texture or should I just chaulk this up as another learning experience. If I can refire, do I go back to the full fuse temperature?
