Re: Devit solution left stains on bottom of piece!

I have several pieces of BE that have a devit (Opals) I had planned on silkscreening Reusche enamels on these with the rest of the batch - Can I go ahead screen these with the rest and THEN fire once more a devit spray ? I know you can't use a devit when you fire enamels - can I do it after? So the ...

Clock hands

Im working on 10 clocks that have screenprinted with colored elements. Great woodworker made me the stands, my only problem. I'm having a heck of a time finding smaller clock hands. I have the clock, just need 8.6cm and 8.9 cm (stretched out at say, 1830 to make that measurent. Or, 4.3cm and 4.75 cm...

Re: deformed bowls

For SS forms you can slump INTO the mold? Say I have a deeper mold like he does, can I slump it in a different mold first to start the slump and then switch to the deeper mold? Should the first slump be in a smaller mold..or bigger? To start the slump. I've wondered about this as I have deeper SS bo...

Re: Using strofoam as a mold

I use a styrofoam cutter when I'm shipping odd shaped panels over-seas. The smell is so horrific I only do it in from of a strong fan outside withs mask on. It's super nasty smelling. I can't even imagine the damage it would do go your elements and bricks,

Re: belts

I check eBay periodically and just bought cl belts (3 boxes of 5) 120 grit for 60.00. I should mention these are NOT from cl account on eBay. But rather an individual who is getting out of glass work. Last week I bought two boxes of 5 (80 grit) from another seller for 34.00. eBay as well as PayPal h...

Re: Attaching a metal rod to Garden Art

Hi, , I just cut small clear glass rectangles and slumped them over fiber rope. I unraveled the rope so it was just 1 of 3 of the strands. Depending on how large the rod is. Once it's slumped remove the rope and use silicon glue. I used thin rods from home depo and cut them in half. Slather the sili...

Stainless Steel rings larger Than 14.5

Does anyone how any place i can order SS rings 15" 16" inches? I've looked all over and can't find anywhere that sells them over 14.5. I know there is a site but I can't seem to locate it.

Re: Moving a large piece into the kiln

As always, this board and you wonderful sharing folks - I can't thank you enough! In the future what is the best set up? Keeping in mind it took several hours to set this up. Is it generally better to fuse items that have hundreds of tiny pieces right on the prepared shelf omitting kiln paper? I was...

Moving a large piece into the kiln

Hello all, I been working on the large piece (for me) outside of the kiln. I have over 400 pieces of glass standing on edge inside a 16" SS ring. I built this on a 19" piece of plexiglass/kiln paper/inside of the ring - I'm afraid of trying to ease it off onto the shelf of the skutt Clam s...
