I just finished the remaking of a piece that I made last month. The initial piece had BE013 which developed stress after a number of firings. This piece has had 8 firings without stress, and without any BE013. The first one became a giveaway, and 5lbs. of BE013 became a throwaway. Live and learn. W...

Im looking to make a very simple wall scone that will hold a candle. Having a really hard time finding the hardware. Any thoughts ideas....... on the holder and how to get it on the wall would be much appreciate!!!

I would never ever take anything out at 150 the shelf is still screaming hot!!! I let my kiln cool right down I just walk away....... and at about 50 I open it and I still wrap it in a towel if the pice is important to me:)

Found some inspiration....thanks for all the suggestion! Put a test piece is in the kiln....it made this beeping sound when I put the switch to on and the control panel was blinking on and off with the beeping then it stopped and was fine have it running now but what could it be? I've never tried to flatten a slumped piece before and know it needs to be done slowly. Brad's book doesn't suggest a schedule. I'd appreciate recommendations for how to try to do this...ie how slow is slow enough? Do I just place the piece on the kiln shelf and pray or is there some way to ease it ...

My plate broke while slumping. I think I understand why it borke, it went over the edge of the mold. I don't understand why it did as it was the same size as the mold. In the photo you will see how much it ran over. The plate was two layers of tetka with powder frit on a leaf. The fuse was great. W...

Patty Gray uses Super Glue and a lot of it to hold work in place, I was amazed that it burnt out clean.
