Pits and Flip and Fire
My experience is with jewelry. I'm having trouble getting tiny pits in pieces 6" and larger using COE 90. It's been suggested that these are bubbles rising to the surface and bursting. I've been able to repair them with a heavy layer of clear powder but of course I'd like to skip this step. I u...

Re: Polishing Puzzle
I saw this link for the sander before and would love to get it. I applied to register but was turned down. It appears that I'm not "in a related industry." I have a resale license but they didn't ask for that information. Any advice?
Thanks,
Drewcilla

Soak it in just under boiling water. It should come right off. Acetone should remove any remaining residue.

Re: Using a stainless steel ring and scrap clear glass
There's a free Bullseye app for iPhone (maybe other phones as well) that will give the the amount of glass you need. You pick the shape, put in the dimensions, and it calculates the amount of glass you need. It's found under "Tools" on the app.

Thanks for sharing. I love looking at people's work. I especially like the color and pattern of the fourth piece. (Being somewhat geographically challenged I had to Google Nauru.)

Help reusing fully fused piece
I screen printed a 3.5 x 3 piece meant to be a night light. It looks fine except the design isn't balanced. Because it's a roadrunner there's no way to cut it down to balance it without losing the tail. I have no idea why I didn't notice this before the last fuse. I just don't like it but imagine th...

Re: High temperature wire between glass
Drewcilla, do you have a dedicated shelf for silver? I recently did my first experiment with fine silver inclusions--completely encased between layers of glass and not too close to the edges--and had silver staining. Took several firings for it to dissipate. Valerie, I've read about problems with s...

Re: High temperature wire between glass
I've used fine silver to do that. I prop 1/8 inch thick fiber blanket under the bottom of wire to keep it from bending down. The silver shines up nicely after firing.

Re: Glue for jewellery-making
I, too, use E6000. I've never cared for the odor so tried other products until one odorless one put me in the hospital for two days. Just remember to rough up the surface, not use too much, and let it rest for a minimum of 24 hours. After about a week, I can no longer detect the odor. Barry Kaiser h...

Re: Copper inclusions
Awhile back I searched for a solution to this issue and came across a recommendation to coat the copper with Clear glass paint to keep the copper color. Unique makes it; I don't know if others do as well. I've never tried it. If you do, please report back and let us know. Thanks.
