Re: aztecs and kiln wash

I tried spaying kiln wash with my el cheapo Paasche external feed. It sprayed-on, but it resulted in a wierd...

Lustres and Micas < 1260ºF
I'm doing an Art Deco-like geometric stained glass window. I designed the borders with black geometric banding ornament, for which I would ordinarily use 1260ºF black glass paint. I was thinking instead about using a paint or something that would be more metallic in reflected light. The glass will ...

Hey, I'm feeling artistic, can someone tell me where to get a pattern book, and maybe give me some help with the glass selection. Brock Which pattern themes are you looking for? clip To make it perfectly fail safe you'd want an overtemp circuit with its own controller and thermocouple. Given the inexpensive bare bones controllers these days you could get the whole set up, controller relay and thermocouple for around 200$. The thing is though I've really reconsidered the ne...

Re: "Crafter"?!?#@$*&(*#&%!
Why does this bother me so much? I just got an email from someone (undoubtedly a nice person who has never pulled whiskers off a cat) who is looking for some crafters to fill a show in December. "Crafters", I shouted! "There are no "Crafters" here!" Actually, I replied...

I recommend reading 'The Values Of Art - Pictures, poetry, and Music' by Malcom Budd. It confirmed to me something that I've always suspected: That publications by Oxford-educated academics are completely impenetrable by non-academic American readers. I labored paragraph by paragraph to read about a...

One of the board sponsors Fusion HQ, sells fusemaster enamels. I've never used them, but since they sponsor our board, they're wonderful. There are other vendors whose products I've used: Reusche, Rynnes. They sell clear fluxes, but achieving transparency/brilliancy would be difficult trying to colo...
