A large compass is cheap and easier to store, for me. Although most times, I cut a base circle to the size I want, and then trace it to draw the pattern for my piece.

I don't think I'd use Superglue, unless this is a piece you're keeping. I used it years ago, the first time I glued on bails. Seemed perfect, until I unpacked all my pendants at a show and discovered all the bails had fallen off. Of course, glass to glass may be fine, but wanted to let you know!

Fresh out of the kiln (which is why it's a quick iPhone pic from the kitchen counter) but using up some stands I've had for awhile. The photo doesn't show it but I combed a layer of clear powder between the base layers, which resulted in some nice bubble patterns. Measures 8x25".

My handyman used to be a butcher in a grocery chain. He gave me some woven, fabric-type gloves that are cut resistant to knifes. They're soft and flexible enough for some pretty good dexterity as far as handling/sorting glass.

Love these. Cut out design on top piece. Put a transparent color for bottom layer. Cut out fiber paper where you want the glass to puff out. Place under both layers and fuse.
