Re: Price of/for findings...

I sell tons of pendants. I price them without a chain and give the customer an option of buying a chain from me for $10. there is a big markup on the chain, it's offered as a convenience to the customer. you can markup your findings if the price is still within reason.

Re: Hanging & Displaying your glass

I've been buying plate stands at Ross, the discount clothing store. they have great ones and they are very inexpensive, $5-$7. I buy them in bulk and then just pull out the one that suits my design best.

Re: Stamping Brass

I'd love to hear what the experts say because I work a LOT with brass stampings in my jewelry. my guess is that you are going to have issues with air pockets if you cap with clear. maybe sifting some clear powder on top would be better? I did try to fuse a gear onto glass and the gear popped right o...

Re: Mica Powders

the system is telling me the images I'm trying to attach are invalid...? I tested about 110 mica powders - only a few kept their color at 1490. I only tested capped, and have been told results will be different uncapped. Here are my results: Blue: I tested 16 blues and none stayed blue. Purple: I te...

Re: Las Vegas Glass Expo

that's really too bad - those classes are expensive. Did you find any great bargains there? I live in CA and thought about driving out there but couldn't swing it this time.

Re: Mica Powders

I tested some Pearlex, TKB Trading, Perfect Pearls. went to 1490 and used hairspray as my medium. if anyone is interested I could post the info for the"winners".

slumping molds

is there a way you can use random ceramic items for slumping molds if you drill holes in them? I don't think you can but why not? I'm talking like using a plate out of your cupboard as a mold for example.

Mica Powders

I ran a test with 110 mica powders and found that most of them lost color at fusing temps. I did find a few winners though... I only tested capped and have been told the colors will act differently uncapped. I dread running this test again (uncapped this time). does anyone have any input for me on t...

Flexi Glass

Hi everyone, I am new! I have been making jewelry for 8 years, a lot of mixed media, polymer clay, resin, epoxy clay, and glass. have recently gotten really into glass fusing. so because of my background I'm already experimenting with materials... tried Flexi-Glass today. I'm told it must be capped ...
