Re: Strip to chop
Thank you, I have read (not sure where now) that when making pattern bars people tack them instead of ff to keep crisper lines when using them in other work. That's why I asked about this. When I made a bunch of very complex designed pattern bars the colors did run a bit in the ff. . Is there top te...

Strip to chop
I have a full large kiln shelf filled with 1/4 inch translucent strips set on their side all touching. This will be 20x20 after firing. I'm making this to use as design elements and will be cutting it after firing . Damming. Since they are all 20 inch strips do I need continuous damming? My major qu...

Re: Strip cutting and fusing technique help
They fuse pretty darned straight :D . The only place where you may end up with some "waving" is on the edges, which, if the stripes run all the way to the edge you can plan ahead and coldwork them out if needed. Here is one of the strip bowls I did: https://img0.etsystatic.com/009/0/55683...

Re: Organizing and inventory
I've written both companies to see if they might have a spread sheet. I'll chime in if they do and share it. We made strong bins and then stacked crates on top. A lot of braces for the wt of the glass. I spent all day removing the glass and organizing the way they do on their individual website. It'...

Re: Stained Glass - Scrap Pieces
Thanks to all for the feedback! I think using scrap stained glass for slumping and fusing may be more trouble than it is worth. So, I'll just start buying glass for this purpose. As for giving the glass away to the local schools, I was amazed at the complexity due to bureaucratic regulations in doi...

Organizing and inventory
Good evening I have over 600 square feet of fusible glass in my studio . I am no expert however I know enough to donate my time and glass to teachers in my area to make items and spread the wonderful world of glass to the next generation. I'm learning as I go, pulling rods, raking glass, pattern bar...

Re: Stained Glass - Scrap Pieces
If you decide not to use it, don't toss it. I've donated scrap glass to a local high school for mosaic classes before.

Texture molds,
I've seen plenty of texture molds for sale and was wondering how difficult and what materials they use.
I would love to know how to make my own rather than buying someone's art work.
Thank you

Re: Beveling an edge
Here is a photo of my practice disk - its the back = so should the bevel be shorter on the back? What i mean is if you measured the disk after the bevel the front would be a hair bigger? or is it the opposite?
Thank you
Thank you
