Re: Bubbles!

Just to clarify….I was not suggesting to drill, then flip and fire. I think that would not be very successful. I was suggesting just flipping it as it to possibly have it flatten out enough to us. better to hang it on the wall next to your control box to remind you about firing schedules! :)

Re: Bubbles!

Interesting Brad that you can go 200 to 1240 that fast in your side fire. in mine I have to go 50 from 1100- to 1250 and hold to make them totally smooth…..

Re: Bubbles!

In a side fire the glass at the edges melts first and seals in the air unless you fire extra slow. Never really worth trying to drill out the bubbles but you can try to flip it
over and refire. It will flatten it somewhat. Add elements to hide any flaws. I hate to throw out good glass!

When I read it quickly yesterday I thought the zits were on the pattern bars…..but if they are all over it makes me wonder what your firing schedule is?

Re: Making bisque ceramic molds

For small soap dishes it really does not have to be that complicated. Roll your clay out with a rolling pin on newpaper so it is all the same thickness.....form it looking at the inside of the clay making sure you have a flat area so the finished glass will sit nicely without rocking. No holes are n...

Re: Dyson Shelves

Thanks Rick and Les Got a hold of them. Les...thanks for telling me the shelf is lighter. I love my original Dyson shelf and I would have been immediately been disappointed when the. euclid was delivered had you not told me. If it performs as well lighter will be better! New big kiln, new shelf........

Re: Glue for fused work

Havi…..I only do both if I want a very soft mist to hold powders….then I use hair spray. My airbrush for debit spray is pretty strong even when I turn it down and I cannot rely on it to not destroy a days work in powders!!!! Thanks goodness we have both in our arsenal of tools!

Re: mold size?

so….I am looking at this differently. I thought she asked how wide a piece could she fit in a kiln with an 11" interior, correct? I am talking width here not height of mold. So for depth …..with a top firing element with 9" depth the piece would be perhaps 7" from heat source unless i...
