I change my relays yearly. Take a picture of the connections before you start - then you have a reference for how to put it back together.

Re: Help- fusers of LARGER (over 2’) pieces
It seems to me if you are getting a full fuse at 1385 that your kiln is running hot. I normally get a full fuse at 1440 to 1465F on System 96 glass.

Re: Help- fusers of LARGER (over 2’) pieces
Bonnie, I don't hold that long at 950. For 1/4" to 3/8" Spectrum says to hold 60 minutes. Sometimes I hold longer - but that's only if I have tack fused elements. I think that if there are some hotter and colder areas of your kiln, it's possible to introduce stress into your piece by holdi...

Can I add beeswax to Victory Brown wax to make it a little more malleable? If not - does anyone have a recommendation of wax that is softer and that will stick to a base of Victory Brown wax?

Re: Fixing a break
If you flatten it, the pieces won't fit back together. If you decide not to glue it, I would suggest that you flatten the piece, cut off the part that is broken and then slump it into a smaller piece. Too bad about the break - it's a nice piece.

Re: Sealers
Thanks Cynthia for the clarification. I misread your post - and was thinking that you were actually spraying on coats of urethane. I see now that you were talking about the mold release.
Thanks so much!

Re: Sealers
Thanks Cynthia and Glasstech. Loveland is about 5 miles from my house - I should have thought of that! Thanks! I'm wondering what product you use for a spray on urethane? What I bought from Smooth-On is very thick - worked fine to brush, but if I'm ever going to do this again with any details, it wo...

Re: Sealers
Unfortunately, I don't have the option of starting with a new mask mold. This is a fund raiser for our local art museum - they provide the masks - and artists can do whatever they want. I thought it might be a good learning curve into casting... If I hadn't put the shellac on it to begin with, I cou...

Sealers
I attempted to make a rubber negative of a bisque fired ceramic mask. I took the mask, coated it with about 5 layers of shellac and then sprayed universal mold release over that. I then pained Smooth-on's Brush-On 50 Urethane over that, and poured a mother mold over that. The urethane stuck horribly...

Mold Making with R&R 910
I have an open faced sculpture that is a mask made out of bisque ceramic. I've embellished that mask with plasticine flowers. Can I pour an R&R 910 mold over this after I've put a release on it - or will removing the plasticine harm the surface finish on the R&R 910? I know I could make a si...

I had the same problem with my maglesses this year. I made little snowmen. I ended up taking out the clear all together and just using white.

The paws are really cute Mike - I'm sure you'll sell a lot of them! I have to say that for whatever reason, I like the more rounded paws up above than the ones below - but I'm sure the ones below would hold a spoon better. Cute, cute, cute.

Re: What magnet to put on fridge mags?
I've bought my magnets from various sources on the web, depending on the price. I do like this source as well: http://www.amazingmagnets.com/sf-disc-magnets.aspx?pagenum=2 I especially like how they show the magnet size in relation to a penny on this site - so you can see exactly what you are buying...
