How to polish a tiny spot

I get an occasional spot of crap on my otherwise clear glass. If I remove the crap with a little diamond bit, e.g. a 220 grit burr from HIS Glassworks, I now have a little white spot. Is there a way to polish this little speck so that I will have a little polished divot instead of a white dot?

Re: Wellspring

I didn't care for the green one's glass color much. Just personal taste. The blue one appeals to me. Did they like it? I'd guess they did. It's a charming piece.

Re: New piece

Thanks Jen. Yes, The backhoe was done in enamels and isn't stain. Now that I think about it, there may not be any silver stain on that panel.

Re: New piece

Thank you for the kind words. I've wanted to do a piece with chicory for a long time. It grows in our county by the roadside, and it seems like the more inhospitable the roadside, the more persistent the chicory is. So the only back story is that in my part of the country it would be a typical scene...

New piece

This is titled 'Chicory'. it's a three layered panel, the first of which has fused elements that make flower stems, leaves, and petals. The other two layers are painted and stained float sheets with painted stained glass borders. Image

Re: firing on vermiculite board vs. mullite boaRd

Those questions have a lot of variables. You might obtain more opinions if you present a scenario that describes the components in detail between two test cases and ask which one is most likely to cause breakage of the glass piece if you miscalculate the schedule in a certain way. In order to break ...

There's also some good perspective offered if you google 'imposter syndrome' and 'dunning-krueger'.

Interesting, Barbara. I wouldn't know one hole size from another, but it sounds like I should expect to find a larger one more acceptable than the one that the pot was born with. I may try that with some scrap clear antique. I have a lot of it.

Re: Frosted Finish Glass Paint / Enamel

I use Josephine Metallic Silver a lot for my Xmas suncatchers. I've tested most of Kathy Petersons glass paints. The Josephine Silk paints don't seem very interesting to me. Kathy suggests firing them to eleven hundred something. But I find that they have to go to 1325 in my kiln to stick permanentl...

Re: WORKING WITH LIQUID ENAMELS OR GLASS PAINTS

If the Colorline people can't help you with your problem after seeing those excellent photographs, then its time to move to a different paint. I'll repeat a detail of my suggestion to provide all of that information AFTER you obtain and experiment with some of Brad's Sunshine colors. There are a lot...
