Re: short people

Jo- how about lowering the table height to where it's comfortable? Or standing on a small platform? I'm serious! Try it- in my studio we range from about 5'3" to 6'; there's all kinds of accomodation. Well...I threw my 6'0" hubby outta my studio and took over his bench. Had to stack up fa...

Re: What is your favorite straight glass cutter? Circle?

Toyo custom grip tap wheel for hand cutting and Toyo tap wheel circle cutter. Buy them at CR Laurence 1-800-421-6144 california. Get the right wheels for the thickness of glass you are cutting. Took Bert's advice and love the circle cutter! I use the pistol grip Toyo cutter - since I'm 5'2" I ...

e-zine & Gale Bez

What a great article about Gale Bez :) Nice photos of her work and studio/gallery. Now I know what she means when she says she's on the banks of the Mississippi! Great shot of her view. I wasn't sure if I would do well with this paperless glass magazine; but I do like it a lot. It covers fusing as m...

Jeri, Does the mold have small holes in the bottom? It probably should if it doesn't. Yes, elevate it slightly above the shelf with kiln furniture being careful not to block the holes (and make sure kiln wash isn't clogging holes either). Then check to see if it's level and adjust so it is. I don't ...

Re: Shipping and Insurance Questions

What should I know about shipping and insuring and booth insurance blah, blah, blah? Assume I know nothing please  because that's a fact. Oh, I don't have business insurance (probably a stupid move), so that's not currently an option for coverage. Thanks for your input. Cynthia, Why not call y...

Phil,

I use the Cornhuskers Lotion too. Other products are good (like bag balm) but the cornhuskers doesn't leave the "greasy" feel after you use it.

Hugo,

You explained it well; my apologies to Ron  - I read the post but didn't retain it.

Kevin's comment on devit was enlightening, too.

If I'd known how much the science courses would apply to kilnwork, I would have tried a bit harder!

Thanks

Since irid is a thin metallic coating, commonly tin. Would it be possible a carbon-tin combination?. Is there a chemist-warmglasser here?. Hugo, I had a similar thought. One of my test pieces consisted of taking a piece of NON iridized black and NON iridized clear, blasting the surfaces and then fi...
