Sales Tax Audit
Well, I guess it had to happen sometime. I am being audited by the NC Dept of Revenue for Sales and Use Tax (or whatever reason they choose to give me). Some of the things they are asking me for really set my thinking cap on high alert. The main thing I started to double-check was my file on Resale ...

I use a refractory cement made for boilers. Cost about $18.00 for 100 lb bag. Does not shrink, but weighs a ton. Mixes like cement with water, and I don't use a kiln wash for slumping molds. I don't know if the material is what you are looking for, especially since it is so heavy, but email me and I...

Mirror Frames & Tables
Hi Guys...I don't know if you can help me, but I am attempting to locate simple (perhaps even unfinished) wood occasional tables that I can rout out the tops to insert my glass tile as simple borders. Also, wood or metal mirror frames (preferably channeled) that I can insert 4x4 tiles into to create...

You should be able to get to 1270 within the hour (in a fiber kiln, especially). I fire 2 layers of Spectrum to 1400 in 45 minutes. Of course, I'm an old, maverick fuser, so you may not even want to listen to me. Fire fast as you want for testing. Every kiln will be quite different. Also depends on ...

Rick Jarvis' work
Don't know if this is the proper place to post, but knew when I saw the glass disks and the name "Rick Jarvis" on them, they had to belong to our own Rick. The International Home Furnishings Market is now in progress in High Point NC and I was there Sunday. This market spans an entire city...
