Such texture with grace - :D Congrats on such wonderful work! -Terry O. Thanks Bert, Bob, Brock, Amy ....and everyone else for the kind words. The organic shapes originated from my "terra strata" series of years ago. I too like organic shapes, but took a different path for a while to build...

I thought the new white out these days has been reformulated so that it is no longer toxic??? :? -Terry O. Jewelers use white out lots to act as an "anti-flux"...to keep solder from flowing to areas we don't want soldered. The fumes from this stuff are supposed to be toxic. It's not going ...

I usually put it on hold from Jan to April. I call right after Dec 31st in case I have some extra repeat customers from my holiday shows. I double check that my account is indeed closed . Then when I reopen I make sure I do this 3 or 4 days ahead of time and double check by using the dummy credit ca...

I have seen a frit combing plate that resembeled a spiral tie dye - looked fairly decent. So my guess is that you would have to really pile the frit/powder and then drag. Just guessing though. :?

Re: Cookies -- myth vs. fact

...... I love that idea. Its right up there with telling telemarketers you are very interested and could they just hold a minute...and then leave them on hold  Here's one my husband pulled off. Now mind you he is NOT the prankster type. Got a call from the telemarketer and he gave them oh ...

I think that the best help you could have is to have someone help pack down. Make sure they know where things go and with care. During the show itself having help for relief doesn't really work a whole lot because when you walk away from your booth you worry - and you really can't relax. I have help...

It's definately a scam - because I got the exact same request. What threw me for a loop is that they were specific and named a piece from my web site - so it gave me a feeling that they might be real. Just for kicks I calculated how much is would cost to ship to Nigeria - it was over 500.00 - so I j...

Has anyone tried: I have a POS terminal set up from a previous venture, never used. Has anyone tried to get their companies to accept a (they don't get the markup) machine? is this a one time use or re-usable? I think I've seen it on the back side of cabs for texture that can be glued easily vs a smooth back.

Terry, .... Glass is an insulator. The center part of your base amber sheet is getting heated DRAMATICALLY differently (more rapidly) than the areas that are covered by the insulating (and reflecting - even worse) border glass. I am STUNNED that a 450F/hr heat up has ever worked for you. The kiln g...

Hi Terry, 450 degrees/hr isn't fast at all for a first firing. It does seem like your amber is "touchy", especially since you've been doing the design for 2 years without problems. Did you contact Bullseye already? They're good about solving problems like this. Maybe you could still ramp ...

crossing my fingers!

1137 amber problem

Has anyone had problems with 1137 amber? THis is a picture of a plate design that I have been making for at least 2 years. I have now 4 cracked plates. I have used this design in two different kilns and the amber always cracks. I have the same exact design but without the amber glass and have fired ...

:) I do this all the time. I use the top shelf to fire to a 1405 and underneath I only do slumps. I'm banking on a 200degree difference. I use two annealing points one for the top shelf and one for the slump underneath. Only drawback is that my slumps are well hidden under a shelf so that all of it ...

I actually have some samples of them. The company that sent it to me was not familiar with any glass users. So far my 2 test of point loads of 4 layers of glass on one spot has had them survive. I just have not had anytime to really go at it though. Interesting about exploding - where did you find t...
