Drop with Dropring

Hello, Never done it before, so I need help. I have a metal dropring: diameter 25 cm with a border of 5,5 cm. The height of my kiln is about 28 cm. The heat comes from above (in the lid) I plan to drop to circa 25 cm. How many layers do I need. Is it right each layer delivers circa 2,5 cm ( 1 inch) ...

@ Jim Simmons: 26 cm diameter over kilnstands with on the top ceramic thick paper (felt ?). As I did for tealights but then square and not so big. Jan

Perhaps I did give to little information as there is no reaction ? Heating up the glass and throwing in cold water is to make frit. But the measurement is still too big for me.
So I wonder if I can do it again to get smaller parts ? Jan de Jong

Hello ! I know the manner to make small pieces glass bij heating the glass and throw it in cold water. Now I wonder....if I do this for a second/third time will the glass-parts become smaller every time? Thank you ! Jan de Jong (Holland)

Hello, Giving birthday - ( to youth) and other workshops not at my home I need "glue" to attach pieces of glass on a blank glass (underground) ….for the transport. I tested the CMC I have: 3 TEA-spoons CMC on 1 liter water. Boiled and cooled it...and there was a solution, what was not like...
