Thanks so much for the kind comments. The work I see here is so amazing. I love your cabs Paul. Your style is also very distinct. I do appreciate your comment about my beads. I started work flameworking in an area with no beadmakers or regular supplies, so work a lot with strips of stained glass &am...

Thanks Carol, The dichro is all Austin Thin Films Dichromagic dichro. The Spectrum is 96 COE. It does have some different properties in fusing as well as the different COE. I am not an expert but there are lots of people on this board who can give you more info on this. I am glad you mentioned my we...

Dichro cab series

I have been working on these cabs for weeks & have just finished fire-polishing the first batch. I am really happy with the way they are turning out but damn they are hard to photograph! Image

They are all Spectrum.

BTW Uroboros makes both 90 and 96 and Spectrum sells only 90.
I think you might have meant 'Spectrum sell only 96'

Funny this would come up.

I have been thinking about this and wondering if mechanically pressing your glass flat, (say with a graphite pad) at fusing temp, letting it reheat enough to get the 'chill' marks out & then cooling would work? Has anyone tried this???

I might just try some Kokomo with the GNA, though if they say its 92, or even with the Bullseye.
I have used the Kokomo with Bullseye stringers in beads & had no problems with compatibility... but I agree, testing is the only way to tell what you can get away with.

HI Paul,

Great pictures on your website.

Can you tell me what type of metal wire you use to suspend your pot in the kiln?

Thanks!

Well Lynne, they wouldn't warrant their glass COE for fusing but this was answer I got. I checked my e-mails to make sure before I posted that. They were pretty fast about answering emails if you want to check with them.

I have contacted both Armstrong and Youghiogeny about their COE's. This is what Youghiogeny wrote- 'The COE is close to 90 but can vary from sheet to sheet. The top of the sheet may have a different COE from the bottom.' Armstrong quoted me a COE of 'about' 90 as well. I would test before using eith...
