does anyone know if there is a current supplier? I love this stuff but have had no luck finding any in the past 2 years.

if consistency is important to you, you can use soil sifters to sift the frit so that you are using consistent sizes. There is quite a range of sizes within any one BE size - Miriam Difiore gets 5 sizes out of #2 frit. Sift away!

I would recommend checking out Paul Tarlow's e-book on stands (see www.fusedglass.org). It has lots of very straighforward information on doing what you propose. It is pretty cheap.

if you use the hollow cane, you will get air bubbles and the cane looks irregular - straight then blobby, straight then blobby. I agree with Cyn; the tighter I pack my pot, the less hollow stringer I get. I get hollow stuff only at the very end.

If it would work for the piece, put it back in the kiln on a bed of white powder (08). Or fuse a sheet of white to the back. This is something I run into all the doggone time, and I wish you the best.

in my house, stuff flows FROM the kitchen TO the studio...and never comes back! Then the kitchen fairy (who shops at bed bath beyond) replaces all those mysteriously missing elements...

Never a good idea to mix food & glass. Too much potential for hazard - chemicals, dirt, slivers of glass....

I have not used the product. However, the question has come up many times. It depends on how much frit you need, whether or not it makes sense to make your own. Check the archives about various methods of making frit. You can run a magnet thru it (i use a cow magnet) to collect metal particles.

Sure you can re-fire it. It's not clear from your description whether it is textured or not. If you re-fire to a full fuse you will lose that. You may want to put a bit of a dam around it the next time so it doesn't spread out - which sometimes cracked glass likes to do. If you do this you will not ...
